More than 15 community groups will
be participating in Peninsula AquaFest
2008, providing opportunities for visitors
to experience, learn about or become
involved in marine lifestyle, activities and
organisations.
“The Mornington Peninsula is well known
for its wineries, restaurants, galleries, golf
courses and national parks,” said Festival
Director Mr Simon Schweigert, “yet the
very reason we have all fallen in love with
the Peninsula, and made our lives here,
is our proximity to the water. We have
never, as a community, celebrated the
lifestyle Port Phillip and Western Port
Bays have to offer.”
Living and holidaying on the Peninsula is all
about spending quality time with your family
- & what better time and place is there than
the summer holidays on the Peninsula to
promote a recreational lifestyle & to explore
what the great outdoors has to offer?
The entire family
will be able to
participate in
a program of
activities & events
including:
• Grand Hotel Dragon Boat Cup supported
by the Rotary Club of Mornington -
local and visiting teams will race colourful
dragon boats in Martha Cove Harbour
following the Dotting of the Eyes ceremony
conducted by the monks of the Bright
Moon Buddhist Society
• Peninsula AquaFest Regatta at Safety
Beach Sailing Club - a two day, three
