Exploring Dromana
- with Emily Davenport
Over summer try the new
releases at Karina Estate
from the excellent 2006
vintage including Sauvignon
Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling,
Cabernet Merlot and Pinot
Noir. For nearly twenty five
years this pretty cellar door
has made a range of wines
that are very affordable.
Visitors are invited to bring a
picnic to enjoy with a glass
of wine in the garden and the
large well stocked toy mat near
the tasting bench is always
popular with smaller visitors.
Head to Five Sons Estate
for a fabulous Meze plate
which includes a number of
Mediterranean inspired tastes
to share. Enjoy with a relaxing
glass of wine on the deck. Try
the 2004 Five Sons Pinot Noir which has now bagged five medals at
wine shows around the country. Art exhibitions are run throughout
the year in conjunction with Gallery One in Mornington. Over
summer experience "Subtle Expressions", works by artists Elena
Ryazanoff and Heather Clygston.
Crittenden at Dromana has created a real foodies destination in
Harrisons Road. Stillwater Restaurant is open seven days a week
for lunch, as well as dinner from Thursday to Saturday. The cellar
door has thirteen wines on tasting as well as olive oil and dukkah
to try. Estate produce such as marinated olives and macaroons are
available along with a
range of kitchenware.
The cellar door has its
own café style menu
which can be enjoyed
down by the lake with
your favourite wine.
