Frankston - Susono
The sister city relationship between Frankston and Susono was established in1982, and during both 2011 and 2012 the two cities are celebrating 30 years together.
The relationship was facilitated by the Yazaki company, who have their world headquarters in Susono and base their Oceania operations in Frankston.
The Frankston Susono Friendship Association (FSFA) is a group of volunteer citizens from the Frankston City who administer the sister city relationship on behalf of the Council.
Susono City has a population of over 50,000 residents and is located on the Pacific coast of Honshu Island, 150 kilometres south of Tokyo at the foot of Mount Fuji.
Over the past 30 years FSFA has won eight awards from the Australian Sister Cities Association including best overall program in 2002 & 2007.
