The Mornington Peninsula has an abundance of both. Like a beautiful patchwork quilt, the Peninsula’s wineries spread their pattern across a backdrop of splendour and fresh local produce and innovative menus make vineyard restaurants a popular choice.

Stillwater at Crittenden in Dromana offers stunning food in great surrounds, Salix Restaurant at Willow Creek Vineyard Merricks North is also renowned for good food delights, and last but not least Paringa Estate at Red Hill

The Mornington Railway operates every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Sundays each month. Join the train at either the old Moorooduc Station, Tanti Station in Bungower Rd and Mornington Station in Watt Rd.

The Annual Scarecrow Festival runs through October and the trail map takes you on a tour that will amuse and fascinate the family. Maps are available from the Red Hill Post Office and many businesses with in the Peninsula Hinterland.

This month is very busy on the Peninsula. Starting this Saturday and running till 12 October is Peninsula Pinot Week with a series of winemaker’s dinners with a difference will be held across the Peninsula.

On Friday 10 October The Long Table in Red Hill is holding a degustation dinner, details and bookings 5989 2326.

Saturday 11 October Stillwater at Crittendens in Dromana will be holding their annual winemakers dinner, details and bookings 5981 9555.

On Sunday 19 October we also see the return of the Annual Mornington Main Street Festival. Now in its 13th year this Festival held in Main St Mornington showcases the wide range of the Peninsula’s food establishments, restaurants and wineries.
