Township of Mt Martha
The tree-fringed beaches of Mount Martha make it one of the loveliest areas on the eastern Port Phillip shoreline.
The residential and holiday home population is catered for by a village of small shops near to the main beach. An elegant former guest house now serves as the town's community centre. The Balcombe Creek flows into the bay at Mount Martha and can be explored via a boardwalk which follows the waterway for many hundreds of metres. The Briars Historic Park on the fringe of the town boasts an 1840s National Trust homestead, restaurant, wetlands, woodlands, vineyard and interpretation centre.
